Cynthia (Miranda Tapsell), Gail (Deborah Mailman), Julie (Jessica Mauboy) and Kay (Shari Sebbens) are discovered by Dave (Chris O'Dowd), a good-humored talent scout with a kind heart, very little rhythm but a great knowledge of soul music. As their manager, Dave books the sisters their first true gig, giving them their first taste of stardom, and brings them to Vietnam to sing. Adapted from Tony Briggs' original stage play and directed by Wayne Blair, The Sapphires is a triumphant celebration of self-discovery, family and music. Visit the movie's official website! WE MADE IT!!  A HUGE THANK YOU TO THIS INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND GENEROSITY!  Details on the conversion coming soon :)

Dear Fargo Theatre Fans, Friends and Supporters,

This is a remarkable time for the film industry. For generations, our storytellers captured shadow, light, and sound on 35mm film and sent their dreams out to the world on reels of wobbly celluloid. We journeyed to Hogwarts Castle, to Casablanca, to galaxies far, far away... we belted out show tunes with Julie Andrews in the Austrian Alps, we marched with penguins at the bottom of the world... all the while, miles and miles of film clicked through projectors, unfurling our great adventures at 24 frames a second. But the world spins on, technology races forward and now even the way we tell stories is evolving. The cinema industry is in the middle of the largest infrastructure overhaul since “the movies learned to talk” in the 1920’s. By the spring of 2013, EVERY movie theatre in America wishing to remain in business MUST be equipped with digital cinema projectors and the computer hardware they require to operate. This incredible equipment will provide crisp, clear images, amazing sound, and a greater variety of film programming opportunities. It will carry the Fargo Theatre into the new millennium and ensure the Theatre’s continued presence in our vibrant downtown community.
